Significance of postural education in physical therapy

Posture is the first thing to get affected whenever our spine gets exposed to any kind on pain, infection, injury or due to tightening of ligaments and muscles around it. Since the spine works closely with the functions and position of head, upper body and legs, the balance and spinal movements are sacrificed most.

To re educate the body once again about the posture it is important to design a program which consists of spinal movements, relaxing of stiff muscles by stretching and strengthening of muscles concerned with spine, shoulder and buttocks.

While the exercises are done to reshape the spine to its natural form, training about walking, sleeping, sitting and daily activities is also given to the patient.
