Why do Children suffer from Back Pain?

You will be surprised to know that this is no uncommon thing. A little less than 30% of children complain of back ache and back ache in children is not to be ignored. It is probably far more serious if it concerns a kid than it does an adult. It also involves numerous complications.

What causes back pain in children?


There are numerous things which cause children to suffer from back pain such as overuse of muscles in the back and shoulder, heavy bags, heavy sports, infections and tumors etc. In each case, the reason for back pain is different and hence, the requisite treatment also differs.

To start with, do not carry heavy things and replace back packs with pullers i.e. bags with wheels. Cut down on sports or stop completely if required. How to prevent back pain in children?

A little precaution can go a long way and can prevent a lot of damage. Educate your child about the hazards of back pain and how a little effort can save them a lot of trouble. Tell them how to carry their back packs and buy quality back packs which do not strain the muscles. Also, if they are involved in sports, tell them how valuable it is to eat and exercise well.
